EVENTS MARKING THE MUNICIPALITY OF PALILULA CITY CELEBRATION

Marking the city of Nis celebration begins on Saturday, May 31, with the youth camp in Memorial Park "Bubanj" and ends with the international parade of ecological and archaeological film "Ecopolis fest".Palilula evening will most likely be deposited in September this year, due to the recent floods and the overall situation in the country, said the president of municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić. However, as announced, the municipality of Palilula will have rich artistic and sports programs contribute to the celebration of the city's celebration "Emperor Constantine and Empress Helena." The municipality of Palilula, together with civil society organizations traditionally joins the celebration of the City fame, on June 3rd. The first side event is the Youth Camp, scheduled for Saturday, May 31, in the Memorial Park "Bubanj".

The camp will be attended with primary and secondary school pupils from the municipality, scouts, members of the equestrian club "Nonius", of Nis Safari Club and others. As explained by Momcilo Petkovic, Secretary General of the Scout Association of the City of Nis, this will be a great opportunity for children to try their hand at horse riding and various sports disciplines, but also to learn more about scouting skills. The second part of the upcoming sports weekend makes with first safari regatta "Viden Jovanović" in 2014, which will be held on Sunday, June 1st. The award is named in honor of Elementary School "Branko Miljkovic" teacher, who drowned trying to save his students from Lake Vlasina.

The race starts from the village of Klisura and ends in Lalinac, and this year is not a competition, with the exception of competition in cooking fish soup at the end. The municipality of Palilula organized the event with  diving club "Gusar", Safari Club Nis, Sea Scouts "SB Jadran", Society for inland fisheries "South Morava 2a" KK "Nonius" Association "Night Wolves" and Palilula Office for Youth. "We want to contribute to a safe race that we will be all enjoying. I expect a large number of participants and appeal to all who come not to consume alcohol to make it all right," said Dejan Pavlovic from the diving club "Gusar". The security will consists of physicians and the health center, which will have demonstration exercise "to rescue people in the water."

In addition to sporting events, on Monday, June 2nd, there will be events of cultural character, an exhibition of artists from Nis, "Reflections of Byzantium in 2014". Opening will occur at 18 hours at the Pavilion in the Fortress. Works will be exhibited by 65 artists, and interested parties will be able to visit the exhibition until Sunday, June 8th. This event was organized by Multimedia Association of Artists "Emperor Constantine", in cooperation with the municipality of Palilula and GSLU. Wine Festival will be held for the eighth time in the Army House on Monday, June 2, from 16 hours to 20 hours for the scheduled auction sale of wine. All proceeds will be paid to the charitable fund to help people affected by the floods. The program ends with the 11th .Ekopolis Fest, an international parade of ecological and archaeological film, which takes place from Wednesday, June 4th and runs through Sunday, 8th of June. The festival will feature 21 film authors from Serbia, Germany, Italy, Australia, Poland, and Kurdistan. Projections will be held from 19 to 20 hours in the Hall of the Faculty of Philosophy, Saturday and Sunday at the Tourist Information Centre in Aleksinac. Admission is free to all interested parties.
